Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton's former love-nest transformed into a romantic luxury boutique hotel on Mexico's golden Pacific coast.

Set high up in a warren of colonial back streets, the glamorous Casa Kimberley was originally the Spanish-style house where Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton began their romance in the 1960s when they were filming Night of the Iguana. Overlooking Banderas Bay it’s a stone’s throw away from the ocean and malecón (promenade) in Puerto Vallarta.

The sumptuous property is constructed from two houses which are linked by a replica of Venice’s Bridge of Sighs, commissioned by Burton. All nine romantic, spacious suites are named after Taylor’s films and each is uniquely and lavishly decorated, featuring hand-carved headboards and oriental rugs. The Iguana restaurant is popular with guests and non-guests.  Plenty of modern twists on Mexican classics and the imaginative use of locally-sourced ingredients make this the go-to eaterie in Puerta Vallarta and, with a nightscape to die for, you definitely need to reserve your table.
