An opulent, romantic Spanish-colonial property in Mexico's charming arty town San Miguel de Allende.

Happily embraced and refurbished by the prestigious Belmond group, the long established Casa de Sierra Nevada is composed of a clutch of 18th century Spanish-inspired mansions lining a quiet street in pretty, arty San Miguel de Allende, one of the best preserved colonial little towns in all Mexico.  

It’s utterly romantic, with fountains and ornamental waterfalls, flower pots overflowing with blooms, stone arches, ivy clad terraces, terracotta-tiled floors and immaculate gardens. The 37 exquisite guest rooms and suites, furnished classically in tasteful Mexican style,  evoke bygone aristocratic opulence without pretension.

There are two eateries within the hotel – the sumptuously formal Andanza with Mediterranean fare, and the semi-al fresco wood-beamed gourmet restaurant del Parque, with its abundance of tropical foliage, is a haven of peace and quiet as is the open air pool, hidden away in a secret garden.  The property also offers cooking lessons and dance classes.
