Charming boutique hotel in the historic centre of Cartagena set in a beautifully restored 17th-century building with a leafy patio. 

Alfiz is a boutique hotel in the true sense of the word. It occupies a 17th-century, two-storeyed colonial mansion in the historic centre of Cartagena which has been fully restored to maintain the character of the original building. The property has a leafy patio, plunge pool and stone-flagged lounge with a library that features a wonderful collection of Gabriel García Márquez books in 20 different languages. There are just eight romantic guest rooms, individually decorated (but as with many buildings of this style windows are small or face the interior) variously featuring terracotta tiles, polished wood and beamed ceilings. The hotel has a good reputation for helpful service (English spoken).
