This sweet, charming hideaway is set on a working ranch, the only one within Los Glaciares National Park to accept guests. An hour’s drive from El Calafate, the main building of Estancia Nibepo Aike is clad in corrugated iron in typical local style, fringed with colourful blooms. Inside, an open fire and country-cottage florals lend the cosy lounge a homely ambience.
Meals are served either in the welcoming dining room or in the quincho, a traditional outdoor barbecue area. The small selection of simple but cosy, well-appointed rooms are furnished with local textiles.
With a spectacular location beside Lake Roca, the estancia is superbly situated for trekking and shorter scenic walks. Other activities include participating in farming activities, watching the gauchos herd cattle and shear sheep, or heading into the idyllic surroundings on horseback.
